本課程中將使您獲得或改進從不同類型的 GIS 分析產生可信賴結果之技巧。教授一種已被證明的程序，解決多種空間問題，包含：選址、視線（可視性）分析與熱點分析。並學習迴歸分析技巧，決定空間樣式的存在。某些課程練習會使 ArcGIS Spatial Analyst 擴充模組。

管理或安排 GIS 分析專案的 GIS 分析師、專家與有經驗的 ArcGIS Desktop 使用者。

需先修習完畢 ArcGIS Desktop II : Tools and Functionality 與 ArcGIS Desktop III : GIS Workflows and Analysis，或至少有相對應的軟體操作知識。

• 針對給定的專案，應用最佳實作選擇適當資料、分析方法與 GIS 工具。
• 準備用來分析的向量與網格資料。
• 建立與修改地理處模型用以自動化分析任務，檢查『假若（what-if）』的場景、比對結果。
• 建立一個權重式適宜性模型來選取新址的最佳地點。
• 應用空間統計分析、闡述、量化地理資料。
• 建立迴歸模型幫助決定為何某種空間樣式會存在。
• 評估分析結果並展現給決策者。

第二天課程：

• Chapter 5：Analyzing raster data（分析網格資料）
• Chapter 6：Creating surfaces（建立起伏面）
• Chapter 7：Analyzing topographic surfaces（分析地形起伏面）
• Chapter 8：Analyzing distance（分析距離）

第三天課程：

• Chapter   9：Planning and building a raster suitability model（規劃與建立網格式適宜性模型）
• Chapter 10：Exploring data patterns and relationships using spatial statistics（使用空間統計探索資料樣式與關係）
• Chapter 11：Regression analysis（迴歸分析）
• Chapter 12：Exploring and refining analysis results（探索與微調分析結果）
